Who would guess that beyond that bush
and far below there is a place of timeless magic.

Look down, this is Canyon de Chelly.

Here the Anasazi lived
a thousand years ago,

and hunted antelope

and sheep

Later the Navajo came
and herded sheep and lived
in harmony.

But then the Spanish came...

They brought horses and guns, and searched the sands for cities of gold.
